Disconnecting Crewfather from QuickBooks Online

The connection between Crewfather and your QuickBooks Online company is terminated. Crewfather no longer has access to that company and will not send anything else to it.

What this means

• Crewfather stops sending customers, invoices and payments to QuickBooks Online. Syncing does not run.
• Records already in QuickBooks Online stay there.Disconnecting does not remove or change anything Crewfather sent before.
• Your Crewfather account is unaffected. Jobs, customers, estimates and invoices continue to work as normal.

What happens to your data

Crewfather does not import or store a copy of your QuickBooks Online books. It sends records to QuickBooks Online and reads only what it needs to sync: it checks whether a customer or item already exists before creating one, reads an invoice's version token before updating it, finds an income account the first time it creates its "Services" item, and reads your company's home currency when you connect. What it keeps from those reads is the identifiers described below and that home currency, never your accounting figures.

When you disconnect, Crewfather asks Intuit to revoke its access first, and only clears the connection on our side once Intuit confirms. The credentials stop working at the moment you disconnect, rather than when they would have expired on their own. The credentials and the id of the QuickBooks Online company they belonged to are held encrypted for as long as we keep them.

Crewfather also keeps a list of which of your records it had already sent and the id QuickBooks Online gave each one. That list is what stops the same invoice being created a second time if you connect again later. It holds identifiers, not your accounting figures.

How to reconnect

1. Sign in at app.crewfather.com.
2. Open Settings, then Integrations.
3. In the QuickBooks section, choose Connect to QuickBooks. You will be sent to Intuit to sign in and choose the QuickBooks Online company to connect.
4. Approve the connection. You are returned to Crewfather and syncing resumes.

Only an owner or admin of the Crewfather workspace can connect or disconnect.
