Refer contractors, earn commission
If you know people running field-service businesses, you can refer them to Crewfather and earn a share of what they pay us. This page is the whole program: the rate, how a referral is tracked, when money moves, and what stops a commission being paid.
There is no application and no approval to join. You sign up, you get a link, and you can send it today. The review happens before a payout is released, which is set out below.
What you earn
20% of every subscription payment a referred account makes in its first 12 months. It is recurring, not one-off: while that account stays subscribed within those 12 months, each payment earns commission.
Commission is calculated on the payment itself. If an account pays less one month, the commission on that payment is smaller; if it pays nothing, there is nothing to earn on.
What that is in money. Crewfather is $59 a month on Starter and $119 on Pro, billed monthly. Twenty percent of twelve months of those is $141.60 and $285.60 per referred account. A referral who pays yearly is billed less over the same twelve months ($49 and $99 a month), so the same 20% comes to $117.60 and $237.60.
Those are full-year figures and you only reach them if the account stays subscribed for all twelve months. Commission arrives with each payment rather than as a lump: a Pro account billed monthly earns you about $23.80 a month. Because every commission then waits 30 days after it accrues, the last of it reaches you roughly thirteen months after the sign-up. If the account cancels in month three, you earned three months and the rest never accrues.
When a referral counts as yours
Share your link. When someone opens it, we record your code in their browser for 60 days. If they start a Crewfather account in that time, the referral is yours.
The most recent link wins. If they open your link and later open someone else's before signing up, the referral belongs to whoever they clicked last. Opening a page with no referral link changes nothing: an earlier click keeps both its code and its clock.
Before money moves
You can start referring straight away. There is no approval to join. The review happens before a payout is released, not before you begin, and we would rather you knew that now than after a month of referring.
This is the order:
- It accrues. A referred account pays us, and a commission is recorded against your name.
- It waits 30 days. Every commission sits for 30 days after it accrues before it can be approved. This is the window in which a refund or a cancellation can still undo the sale.
- We review it. Payouts are approved by us before release. This is a payout gate, not a joining gate.
- You get paid through Stripe. You will need to complete Stripe's payout onboarding, which is where your payment details live. We never see them.
What voids a commission
These are the cases our system actually refuses or reverses:
- A refund or cancellation inside the 30-day hold. The sale came undone, so the commission does too.
- Referring yourself. A commission where the affiliate owns the referred workspace is recorded and voided, not silently dropped.
- Payments after the first 12 months. The account can stay a customer for years; commission stops at 12 months.
- A payment we have already counted. The same invoice cannot pay twice.
- A sign-up with no referral recorded, or one whose 60-day window had passed.
Can I refer if I already use Crewfather?
Yes. Being a customer does not stop you being an affiliate. What you cannot do is refer yourself: a commission on your own workspace is voided.
Where to find your link
If you use Crewfather, your link is in Settings, under the Affiliate tab. If you do not, you can join and manage everything at the affiliate portal: affiliate.crewfather.com.
Your link works as a full URL or as a short crfth.linklink. Both carry the same code and are tracked the same way.
Tax
Commission payments may be reportable income where you live, and Stripe may collect tax information from you as part of payout onboarding. We cannot give tax advice. If you are unsure what the payments mean for you, ask an accountant.
